A Bit About Me

Lyle Siefering was born and raised on a farm in Southwest Iowa in the town of Coin (Page County) where he spent the first 32 years of his life. He went to Iowa State University and graduated with a Degree in Farm Operation. He obtained his real estate license in December 1981 and started working in the real estate business in January 1982. Hawkeye Real Estate covered the entire state of Iowa from 1982 until 1988 but only sold farmland and farm properties. Siefering purchased Hawkeye in 1988 and, in 1989 residential real estate became part of the business.

A Charter Member of the Mahaska Ruritan Club, Lyle started the Oskaloosa Farmers Market and continued his involvement for over 25 years. He has been Farmland Broker of the Year, Citizen of the Year, was State President of Realtors Land Institute (RLI), served on the National Board of Governors, and, held the office of RLI State Treasurer. Lyle has served on county boards, city boards, economic development boards, showing how much he values his community and doing what he can to ensure progress and success. Hawkeye’s success is the direct result of that same determination and commitment.

Just For Fun...

Best thing about living in Central Iowa?

Changes in the weather, which means you really enjoy lovely weather 50% of the time!

Favorite memory from your career as a real estate agent

Nothing specific, but working hard to get the tough deals put together and closed!

Be a proud parent. Tell us about your kids.

I've raised 6 children now all grown with great careers. They live around the country. Now with grandchildren, it makes for some memorable travels.

If you weren't a Realtor, what would you be doing?

Keeping busy. I enjoy staying involved, so maybe coaching, mentoring, or volunteering in some way.

Which of these three do you do most? Read, watch TV or listen to music.
